Purindoors Birmans

Our Girls

The Purindoors ladies live indoors as family members, where they interact together.

Some of our girls remain with us for their entire lives, however in order to continue breeding and showing ( in a home without 'elastic walls'!) sometimes a cat will have a single litter to pass on their genes to the next generation before finding a loving home and a lap to call their own. As much as I'd like to keep them all my aim is primarily to improve the breed and decrease inbreeding, and this means successive generations of cats ae needed. So rather than breeding the same cats together for years with the purpose of producing pets for sale, each litter bred has a specific aim, either to produce a new show winner (or the next outcross generation) for myself or a like minded breeder.

I try to rehome ex-breeding cats (that are not destined to stay for life) as young as possible, so that they can have a full, long life with their new owners. We are usually even more careful about the homes these slighly older ( 2-4 years) much loved pets go to, after all they have been here for quite a while, another few months waiting for the 'right' home is not a problem.

RW Supreme Grand Champion Esaya Purfik of Purindoors

'Sunny' is our star, she is the first ( and currently only) supreme birman in the UK. Sunny is a very, very loving talkative girl and is usually too posh to drink out of a bowl like normal cats, rather she delicately dips her paw in and licks it, the cat equivalent of a 'pointed pinkie'. She is mum to Tilly and Lottie (below) whom she is rather disappointed in due to their 'hooliganism'.

Sunny has been shown in both TICA and GCCF although as we prefer showing with TICA it may be some time before she gains that last elusive Grand certificate for her GCCF Grand Champion title.

Sunny is DNA tested blood group A carrying b.

She does not carry dilute or chocolate.

Ch Purindoors Itcouldbeyou and Purindoors TimewillTell

These energetic seal tortie girls are Sunny's daughters to Grand Champion Gayemaudi Sunny Jim owned by Sally Simmonds. They love each other dearly and spend a great deal of time fussing over each others 'hair stlyes' which makes things very interesting when they are penned together at a show, were they invariably do their best to 'flatten' the well groomed coats I've just spent ages trying to produce!

As with everything else the girls are the same blood group (B)  and both carry the dilute and chocolate genes, which means they can have seal, blue, chocolate, lilac, red, cream, seal tortie, blue tortie, chocolate tortie and lilac tortie kittens!

Tilly gained her first cc at her first adult show, so is also on her way to being a Champion.

Purindoors SugarCrystal

This is our lilac girl (Sugar) who enjoys being used as a mop ( being slid round the kitchen floor)  and has been known to play the drums with 'help' from an enthusiastic boy. Sugar and Sunny are 'special friends' and both prefer cuddling each other and people rather than those irritatingly energetic torties!  Sugar loves her babies, but doesn't always appreciate the quaters we lovingly provide, she often decides that the middle of a childs bed, or in front of the livingroom TV is the place to put them. Unfortunately as they grow they are usually equally strong willed and we have a great deal of fun watching a very determined sugar retrieving her adventuring offspring, only to find 2 others have gone 'walkabout' in the meantime. The picture of her as an adult was taken soon after her first litter left home 'peace at last!'

Sugar is DNA blood tested A carrying b.

Asalot Fantasia

Fanny is the newest member of the household, and is a large very cheeky seal point. Thankyou so much to Sally Crane of Asalot birmans for letting this cutie come to Purindoors, I've been waiting for a kitten from this line for quite some time and she is everything I could ask for. Fanny will be shown with both GCCF and TICA and brings both a new colour and new lines to our breeding program.
